The full steps to connect your number through the official Cloud API, and what to do when connecting fails.
Connect your number through the Cloud API
The easiest path is the "Connect with Facebook" button (Embedded Signup) — it does everything in one window.
- Settings → Channels, choose WhatsApp Cloud API.
- Press "Connect with Facebook" and sign in with the company Facebook account.
- Select (or create) a WhatsApp Business account.
- Choose the number to connect. It must be a number **not** in use on the regular WhatsApp app.
- Confirm it with the verification code you receive.
- Add a payment method on your Meta account — messages are billed to it directly.
A number currently in use on the regular WhatsApp app cannot be connected to the Cloud API. Delete it from the app first, or use a different number.
Manual Cloud API setup
If your Meta account is already configured and you prefer to enter the details yourself, you need three things from the Meta console:
- Phone Number ID
- From the number settings in WhatsApp Manager.
- WABA ID
- The WhatsApp Business account identifier.
- Access Token
- A permanent access token. We store it **encrypted** and never show it again after saving.
You also need to configure the webhook so inbound messages reach you. The URL and token are shown on the same screen.
Once you are connected
- Message your connected number from another phone and watch it land in the inbox.
- Reply from the platform and confirm the reply arrives.
- Prepare your first template before thinking about a campaign.
- Read the Acceptable Use page before any bulk sending — the most valuable ten minutes you will spend.
